I've never heard anyone say, "I just don't like Paris." How could you not like Paris? It's all of my favorite things in one glamorous city: food, shopping, and beautiful architecture. I went about a month ago, and it was the best experience of my life. I stayed in an apartment instead of a hotel, and it made me feel like I lived there! So, I thought I would give y'all a "travel guide" of my top four favorite things to do in Paris!
Number One: The Galeries Lafeyette
The Galeries Lafeyette was probably my favorite thing ever. First of all, it's BEAUTIFUL. There are a ton of floors, and it is organized from most to least expensive, so you can find a floor that fits your price range. I really enjoyed the food market inside of it, it was like a mini-grocery store! There are lots of different foods to choose from (anywhere from classical French food to sushi!).

Number two: Walking Around
As odd as it sounds, one of my favorite things to do in Paris was just to walk around. It's nice when it's about 7 o'clock and the busy city has settled down. After hurrying around the metro and the Eiffel Tower, it's nice to pick up a sandwich from a bakery and people-watch. When I was in Paris, I only had dinner out two or three times. I was so tired by the end of the day, the last thing I wanted to do was wait forever to eat at a busy restaurant. I really enjoyed eating yogurt or some fruit for dinner. You won't feel so sick when you go to bed!

Number Three: Eating
I couldn't resist putting this one on the list. I'm sorry, but it's true! Eating was one of my favorite things to do in Paris. People don't scrunch their noses if you order something like raw steak, and you can be more adventurous than you would be at home. I really enjoyed Croque Madame's (ham and cheese sandwich with an egg on top), Eggs Benedict, and Carbonara. Everything I ate was fantastic!

Number Four: Macaroons
Ah, macarons. One of my favorite foods! When I was in Paris, I went to a macaron cooking class. It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was so much fun! If you think macarons seem to be a daunting task, you should take a cooking class. They have all the supplies you could ever think of, can help you if you're having trouble, and they clean up after you! My teacher was a very nice French lady (the class was in English, thankfully) who went very deep into the art of macarons. She showed us what we wanted and didn't want for our batter, helped us pipe, and let us choose what flavor we wanted to make! Everyone who helped us was extremely nice, and the macarons turned out better than I ever could've imagined!
Question of the day: What's your favorite vacation spot?
